So the crisis must have passed a little with my family situation, as I’m now noticing the colour of hydrangeas. This is one of our blue hydrangeas 🤔?!? David says it will turn blue after it is pink. We shall see… apparently it depends on the alkalinity of the soil. I never knew that before.Continue reading “The colour of hydrangeas”

A change from Bordeaux..
I still have a few more Bordeaux pics, which I’ll show you another time. For now, here are some pretty flowers of Windsor. On Sunday we bought our hanging baskets x 7. I love these. We sometimes plant them up ourselves but this year we bought them ready made to save time and effort. WeContinue reading “A change from Bordeaux..”
The beautiful nature of May
Hi. How are you? All these pictures have been taken in Windsor over the past week or so. I’m really into what’s growing at the moment. Isn’t nature beautiful? What a glorious month May is my friends! This blossom above and below is HM The Queen’s blossom. It was taken in the grounds of TheContinue reading “The beautiful nature of May”
Mad March Hares
Hello there. I haven’t actually seen any mad March hares recently, I just fancied saying it. I think my sister may have mentioned it first. I’m quite fond of hares. They seem lucky to me, but who knows. I’m done with Fit February. Good riddance January and February. I’ve never wanted to get through thoseContinue reading “Mad March Hares”
Snowdrops and Camellias
Hi. I took this shot above of the beautiful snowdrops in my garden today. Aren’t they lovely? Isn’t it amazing the detail you can get with an iPhone camera? There are a few clumps of snowdrops. They’ve only just come out properly, later than a lot of my neighbours’ for some reason. I was alsoContinue reading “Snowdrops and Camellias”
Pink flowers of the day
Hi. It’s amazing how mild it’s been in October and early November. It’s just starting to get a bit chilly now. There are still flowers in bloom around my local estate. The one above I spotted this afternoon. Here’s another one..looks a bit sad somehow. I also spotted some purples and some white. Don’t youContinue reading “Pink flowers of the day”
May tour of The Waffle garden
Hi guys. While I’m waiting for my garden photos to download, let’s talk about food, for a change! A couple of nights ago I made this chicken laksa. Highly recommended. I got the recipe from the Good Housekeeping Express cookbook, which is one of my favourite cookbooks. I think I used a bit more chickenContinue reading “May tour of The Waffle garden”
I hope you like pink?!
Hi everyone. Yesterday we visited The Savill Garden which is about 20 minutes drive from us in Windsor. It is part of The Crown Estate. Usually it costs £13.50 per person including parking, but we used the 241 Gardeners’ World ticket I got recently with Gardeners’ World magazine so £13.50 total for us both. TheContinue reading “I hope you like pink?!”
A lazy Saturday blog with lots of blossom
Hello. I’m really blossoming now 😂😂. It’s been quite a lazy day for me today. This afternoon we went around the block for a quick walk before tea. There is blossom EVERYWHERE my friends. Don’t ask me what sort any of it is, I think some of it is hawthorn. Through the fence at WindsorContinue reading “A lazy Saturday blog with lots of blossom”
Pretty in pink
Hello Wafflers. Say hello to my new cyclamen. Pretty isn’t it? I bought this at the garden centre today after I met my friend for coffee and catch up. It was a lovely sunny morning. After coffee we had a wander around the garden centre shop, donning our masks, of course. They also have anContinue reading “Pretty in pink”
