This Christmas shop has sprung up in Windsor town centre, next to the Craft Coop shop in King Edward Court aka Windsor Yards. It seems to be closed on Wednesdays, not that I’m at all interested in Christmas shopping in May! I’m trying to revive myself after a heavy nap 💤. Honestly I slept aboutContinue reading “It’s Christmas in Windsor (apparently!?) + Chelsea Physic Garden”

A very Merry Christmas from The Windsor Waffle
So here we are again Wafflers, Christmas Eve. I don’t know about you but I’m all set and ready for Christmas. Today I made the wreath above, just a wreath ring from Hobbycraft with bits from my garden stuck in. There’s no glue involved. It all gets thrown away afterwards and I start again nextContinue reading “A very Merry Christmas from The Windsor Waffle”
The missing bag has returned..
As I wait for my big Ocado Christmas shop, just to let you know David was happily reunited with his small suitcase last night. It took BA 11 days to return it after they mislabelled and sent it to Belfast not Brussels.. under a different passenger’s name. David chased it up by phone and onlineContinue reading “The missing bag has returned..”
Trip to Antwerp
Hi. Long time no blog. I’ve been so busy. Last weekend David and I went to Antwerp. We’ve been there several times before as David used to work there and still has ex colleague Belgian friends there (maybe one less since this weekend 🫤). For the first time on entry to Belgium we had toContinue reading “Trip to Antwerp”
Everything including the kitchen sink…
So here you are, my new kitchen sink. You get everything on The Waffle including the kitchen sink. It’s going to look better with the new quartz worktop. That’s being measured up tomorrow and being installed on 21 December I believe. We also got a new induction hob installed today. I have absolutely no ideaContinue reading “Everything including the kitchen sink…”
1st December… hurtling towards Christmas☃️🤩
I love this snowman and friends display in the front porch of one of my neighbours. It’s there every year. The house belongs to a very nice lady who used to get on the bus with me sometimes, I forget her name. Her sister used to get on the bus at the top of theContinue reading “1st December… hurtling towards Christmas☃️🤩”
Pretty reindeer and kitchen progress (or not)
Hi all. Windsor is starting to look quite Christmassy. I like these pretty reindeer I spotted today outside my hairdresser’s. It’s called Icon in Windsor and is run by some lovely Polish ladies. They only take cash even in these post lockdown times, but their prices are reasonable for central Windsor. My locks are gettingContinue reading “Pretty reindeer and kitchen progress (or not)”
Halloween is coming…bonfire night…then Christmas!
Hi. Halloween has never been my favourite festival. I definitely prefer bonfire night on 5 November, and of course Christmas and Easter. I’m not a religious person so Christmas and Easter are festivals of family, friends and food. I’m getting into the Halloween spirit nonetheless with my home grown pumpkins 🎃 – looking more orangeContinue reading “Halloween is coming…bonfire night…then Christmas!”
Pumpkin progress, trip to Reading and walk in Boveney
Well, the pumpkins are turning orange albeit very slowly. I think we’ll be having Halloween at mid to end of November at this rate 🤣. They seem to go orange from the bottom up, interesting stuff. Apart from watching pumpkins turn orange, we’ve been having a relaxing weekend at home. Yesterday we had a tripContinue reading “Pumpkin progress, trip to Reading and walk in Boveney”
The “C” word (not Covid)… and maybe a little bit of moaning from a middle aged woman..
Hi. I am quite cross my friends. I walked up to Timpson’s to get my new watch battery just now. The shop closes at 4.00 pm on Sunday, supposedly, and I arrived at 3.05 pm. The bloke (who was busy hoovering his very small portacabin) was rude and refused to serve me as he preferredContinue reading “The “C” word (not Covid)… and maybe a little bit of moaning from a middle aged woman..”
