It’s Fit February

Hi. Are you ready for Fit February? The decluttering challenge of January is over.. 204 items of stuff left my house. Bye bye stuff, good riddance. I still have a lot of stuff, but it’s time to accept where I’m at with that and to change it up a bit.

I’ve decided that February is the month that I’ll do more exercise. It’s quite a short month, but that’s not why I chose it! I feel ready for this challenge. I’ve been feeling a bit tired, drained, sluggish, mentally limping through last month, apart from the decluttering which went rather well.

My recent activity levels: I usually manage to do a total of 2-3 hours walking a week, together with perhaps one 20-30 minute bike ride or online yoga class.

My goal for this month: at least 15 minutes of exercise EVERY DAY to include a total of 10 different types of activity over the course of the month. This means I will have to revisit some old activities that have slipped for me and also to try some new ones. Exciting stuff. Would you like to join me? The goal is also to pace myself and not to get injured. I’d quite like to lose half a stone, but as I’m only doing exercise rather than adapting my diet, I am aware this probably won’t happen.

This is the progress so far:

Day 1: 23 minutes walking – easing in gently.

Tomorrow is Day 2. I will be cycling to a Pilates class I have booked. I haven’t done Pilates for a long time and never at this particular venue/teacher. I sometimes find Pilates a bit boring, but we’ll see, I’m sure it will do me some good. That will be 2 activities in one day together with the cycling.

Day 3: I have absolutely no idea 🤷‍♀️. I’ll keep you posted!

In other news, there are lots of green shoots coming up in the garden.

Rhubarb..

Some of our neighbours have snowdrops in bloom but ours are only buds. The neighbours’ snowdrops:

Don’t you just love them? So pretty.

Then, our snowdrops… nearly there…

The camellia in bud:

I’m quite excited about this. In 2020 this camellia was in gorgeous full bloom on 1 March and featured on one of my first ever Windsor Waffle posts.

Last year I waited… and waited… and waited… and it finally bloomed on 11 April. What a difference from the previous year.

Shortly after this the frost got it… in mid April.

So I predict it won’t bloom as late as 11 April this year. I’m going to predict 1 March 2022 like in 2020.. watch this space!

Back soon with exercise updates. By the way tomorrow is a very special date: 2.2.22!! There won’t be another like this til 3.3.33!! Xx 🤗
