A muddy walk around Stubbings (near Maidenhead) after a busy weekend out

Hi everyone. Just waking up after my afternoon nap! This is what weekends are for.

Friday night we had a meal out at the Gurkha Royale (Nepalese) with Mark, which was very nice. Yesterday we headed into London to see Pantoland at The Palladium in London. Such a beautiful theatre, I love it there.

We were gobsmacked by the volume of people on Oxford Street when we exited the tube. Yes I know it’s 2 weeks before Christmas. It was crazy. It felt a bit Covid scary seeing the crowds.

We were early so wandered in the rain off the main street a little and found a great little bar which was quite civilised, only half full not rammed like all the nearby pubs. It was called “The Avocado Show” and featured A LOT of avocado on the menu as well as great looking cocktails. I had a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio chilled white wine while David had Leffe Blonde beer. The nachos were delicious, featuring guacamole 🥑 of course!

We ended up having supper after that at The Spaghetti House which was good too, and then on to the show. Julian Clary, Donny Osmond, Nigel Havers, Gary Wilmot, Paul Zerdin, what a fantastic cast. The show was spectacular. My only criticism would be that it was more like a variety show than a Panto. There was no traditional panto story or plot. But I did laugh (inside my mask), A LOT! More than giggles at times, it really made me chuckle some of it. Just what the doctor ordered.

Today was a resting day of relaxation at home with David. Ocado came with the shopping this morning while David taught a guitar lesson.

This afternoon we had lunch of Cornish pasties at Stubbings Garden Centre (near Maidenhead) and then we found an interesting new walk from there across fields of Stubbings Farm and through the woods.

A carpet of leaves, covered up some of the mud. There was masses of mud. Great for hippos but I didn’t see any 🤪🤣.

Here’s David, the man in black walking off into the distance. When I stop for blog photos, he just carries on…

Such a stunning tree.

Mistletoe.

On the way home we stopped off at Braywick Heath nursery and bought a lovely Christmas tree 🎄 yippee!

I have to go and learn how to use the new induction hob tonight.. wish me luck! Lamb shanks for dinner 😋😋. More parties this week. Keep safe and have fun everybody Xx.
