Hello new poinsettia

Well it must be nearly Christmas as we bought a poinsettia today. Windsor Garden Centre is sadly closing down, to make way for an Aldi supermarket. Squires Garden Centre has already gone. We are going to be left with no garden centres in Windsor at all. That is a sad state of affairs. But on the up side we got a good price on the poinsettia in the closing down sale…. reduced to £3.19 – bargain! David made the last year’s one last for 8 or 9 months… until there were no red leaves left. That was from M & S. Let’s see what happens this time. We also researched the cost of Christmas trees but we haven’t bought one yet… £34.99 for a 5-6 foot tree.. not too bad. We’ll probably get one next weekend.

There is some more Christmassiness (Waffle made up word) around the neighbourhood…

Hi Santa!

Getting rather adventurous. I thought he was supposed to climb down the chimney? Rather than up the front of the house? He also does not seem to be carrying a sack that’s nearly big enough for the presents, he’s got a tiny little black handbag!!

Lovely snowman selection in the porch. Mr and Mrs white teddy bear look very cuddly too.

There’s been quite a lot of wrapping up going on in my house today. All went quite smoothly. Only David and my parents’ gifts left for me to wrap now. David has also written and posted his cards. Well done David!

For tonight we are having roast pork shoulder, roast potatoes, cauliflower, carrots and gravy. Washed down with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Followed by chocolate tart (not homemade) and vanilla ice cream. I really like Sunday nights. Feeling all chilled out after the weekend.

Today was drizzly, not very photogenic at all. But yesterday I went for a nice walk up the hill to St Leonard’s Hill and back. I’m getting used to walking on my own now… but I have my phone camera and the clouds and trees for company. David managed to do the garden centre and back without incident so maybe his knee is improving a little now. Here are some highlights from yesterday’s walk…

This last one is the stunning view from my office window on Friday afternoon. Such a gorgeous colourful sky.

I hope you all had a good weekend too and the Chrimbo prep is under control! Don’t panic!! Xx
